The short version

Free
Local transcription
On Free, transcription runs locally on your Mac. Raw audio is neither uploaded nor saved. Transcript text is stored in your Cinder account, remains accessible for 30 days, and may be used to improve Cinder’s AI under the disclosure you accept when using Free.
Starter trial
Local transcript storage
Live audio is streamed for cloud transcription and is not saved as audio. Transcript text stays local-only during the default trial.
Paid Starter + Pro
Storage you can control
Live audio is streamed for cloud transcription and is not saved. Transcript text is stored on your device and in your Cinder account by default.
Disable cloud transcript storage to remove transcript text from Cinder's servers. Account metadata and generated outputs, such as summaries, may remain.
Transcript access and retention
Paid transcript access is unlimited for transcripts you retain. Automatic cleanup defaults to 180 days and can be changed to 90 days, 180 days, 1 year, 2 years, 5 years or Forever.
Access and cleanup are separate
Coaching and analysis
When you request coaching or analysis, relevant conversation context is sent to Cinder’s configured AI providers. Paid-plan data is not used to train AI models.
Free transcript text may be used to improve Cinder under the disclosure shown in the app. Identifying speaker names are removed before eligible text enters that process.
Account memory
Cinder can learn account-specific facts, account intelligence, sanitized writing-style examples, and numerical call-behaviour patterns. High-confidence facts may be used immediately; uncertain or contradictory facts wait for review.
Inspect the evidence
Open a learned fact to review its source, verify it, edit it, dismiss it, or delete it.
Resolve conflicts
Contradictory facts wait for review so you can choose what Cinder should retain.
Control writing examples
Review or delete individual writing-style examples together with their source-call links.
Pause or reset learning
Disable a category without deleting it, or reset that category to remove its automatic learning.
Memory retention and deletion details
Cinder can automatically learn account-specific contact facts, account intelligence, sanitized writing-style examples from calls and edited follow-ups, and numerical call-behaviour patterns. High-confidence facts may be used immediately; uncertain or contradictory facts wait for review. You can inspect source evidence, verify, edit, dismiss, or delete facts, resolve conflicts, and review or delete writing-style examples with their source-call links. Each learning category can be disabled to stop new collection and prompt use without deleting existing items, or reset to delete its automatic learning. In the separate AI-memory setting, 1 year is the default. Accounts without a stored retention confirmation are not pruned until the setting is confirmed. You can choose 90 days, 180 days, 1 year or 2 years. Selecting 5 years or Forever is available on Starter and Pro. Verified facts, manual notes, documents, scripts, calls, and summaries are not pruned by the AI-memory setting; their own retention and deletion controls still apply. Deleting a call removes its indexed context and call-derived learning while keeping manual notes and pins.
Controls in Cinder
Cloud transcript storage
Paid Starter and Pro can disable storage and purge cloud transcript copies.
Transcript retention
Paid subscriptions can choose an automatic cleanup window for retained transcript data.
Learning categories
Disable a category to stop new collection and prompt use without deleting existing items.
Usage analytics
Turn optional account-level product analytics on or off in Settings → Privacy.
Delete a call
Removing a call also removes its indexed context and call-derived learning while keeping manual notes and pins.
Delete your account
Request account deletion from Settings → Account.
Sharing and call notice
Transcript share links and team sharing make selected information available to the people you choose. Disabling paid cloud transcript storage revokes transcript share links when cloud transcript copies are purged.
Cinder does not join a call as a participant bot. You remain responsible for providing any notice and obtaining any consent required by the laws that apply to your calls.
Website analytics
The marketing website uses Vercel Analytics for anonymous website behavior and Sentry for error, performance, and session-replay monitoring. Sentry is configured not to send default personally identifiable information. These systems are separate from optional product analytics in the desktop app.
