Your words come through at full strength
Fixed a bug that could shred and quiet the microphone side of a call — especially solo calls and quiet rooms — leaving transcripts empty even while you were speaking. Mic audio now reaches transcription intact and at its real level.
Transcription starts instantly
Cinder now keeps its transcription credentials and connection warmed up before a call begins, so live captions start about a second sooner after you tap start.
On-device transcription restored on macOS 26.3
Apple's on-device speech engine is back as the local fallback on macOS 26.3, rebuilt around a change in this macOS version that limits speech recognition to one task at a time. Free-plan calls and offline calls get streaming live captions again instead of slower chunked transcription.
Sturdier speech engine plumbing
Speech results can no longer be silently stalled by a busy app, and a few noisy internal warnings were reduced to keep diagnostics readable.

This release pairs the v1.0.63 engine-ladder stabilization with three improvements you can feel: microphone audio reaches transcription at full strength, live captions start about a second sooner, and macOS 26.3 machines regain Apple's streaming on-device engine as the local fallback — redesigned for that macOS version's new one-task-at-a-time speech limit, with speaker labels resolved from each side's audio activity. Cinder's privacy boundary is unchanged — raw audio never reaches the renderer, is never stored, and no transcript content is added to diagnostics.
